Locke's "Letter Concerning Toleration" is a classic defense of the rights of religious minorities--at least up to a point. It makes for interesting rereading in light of post-10/7 politics in the US.

John Locke’s 1689 Letter Concerning Toleration starts out with a angry but vague insinuation that his ideological enemies are hypocrites. That part feels like the seventeenth-century version of a Twitter rant.

As it goes on, though, it gets better.
