Formal and Dialectical Logic

Is "dialectical logic" a competing theory of the same subject as the kind of "logic" that's taught in university textbooks?

Last week I visited Michigan to give a guest lecture at one of Matt McManus’s classes at the University of Michigan and a political talk for Metro Detroit DSA and Wayne State University YDSA.
